Here the trail comes up out of the gorge and into this wide open valley. The mouth of the gorge was like a delta-marsh land, but there were obvious spots where people had moved large stones to make natural bridges. The feeling of being surrounded by this crown of awesome peaks was overwhelming. Quite a spot for a monastery...
