Drigung Til Monastery...

We were quickly realizing that what we were looking at was a sky burial in progress. We are on a hill above the site, following a trail which leads right to it. At this point there were numerous vultures circling over head, and dozens of vultures sitting/standing on the hill all around us. To this point we had not seen any sign asking us not to enter at all. In fact we had passed a group of monks along the way who were quite friendly and gave no indication that we were approaching a forbidden zone.
