From the rooftop of our hotel we were able to make a plan for the day. We wanted to head out to some open country-side, get some good, unobstucted views of the surrounding mountains, and see what life was like away from the city. We took the city bus out as far as it went away from town, got off and walked in the general direction of these large fields we had noticed from the Tenzin rooftop. It was an interesting day, and much about life in the "suburbs" of Shigatse was revealed to us. From the reaction we got from people we could tell that not many tourists ever make their way to this area of the valley.
